Building The

THE TOWN OF RIVER BEND

In September of 1967 Frank Efird began construction on the 12,000 acre site known as River Bend Plantation. The first phase included 636 homes on the Trent River and the River Bend Golf Course. The next phase involved a lengthy dredging project which formed a channel linking inland lots with the river. Circling the channel's end was an area called Harbour Town including condominiums, shopping, tennis and recreation areas.

Here is the beginnings of the planned development which became The Town of River Bend in 1980.
